Self Doubt

I have run into this problem many times now where I stop what I'm doing and wonder if this is really what I want to do with my life. If doing this is even worth it. Well, have I got news for you. It is!

In life there are the ups, and there are the downs. Everything that makes up those ups and downs is part of the bigger picture, the end results. Without failure there will never be success.

There may be many times where you feel that there is no point in it all, and that you're working your butt off achieving nothing. But whatever you are working towards takes time, and with just enough patience and perseverance, you will finally reach your end goal.

While I was reading the other day, I felt a shred of doubt creep up on me about my writing. What if I'm not good enough? I shook my head and thought I was silly for even thinking that, because everyone is good enough, as long as you don't give up. I found that while I was reading, I was comparing myself to the way the author wrote in their book.

BREAKING NEWS: They are not you!

You heard me right. If you keep comparing yourself to someone else, all you will do is feel worse. Instead, compare yourself to your past self.

I found this image while looking up inspirational quotes on Google, and it reminded me of that thought I had with that book.

This quote can be used not just for writers, but other skills and jobs out there. It's a universal quote that I feel should be known by everyone.

So next time you compare yourself to others, in any way, shape or form, remember that you are the only one you can compare yourselves with.

Jacky.

PS: Have a great new year everyone!!!!!!!
